Hexham Courant - Click for bigger imageAn article relating to an earthquake which hit Haydon Bridge and the surrounding district. The Hexham Courant was first published in August 1864. In common with other provincial newspapers it provided detailed local, national and international news. The Hexham Courant is still in publication today. The Northumberland Archives Service holds many original and microfilm copies of Northumberland Newspapers.
