Looking down Marygate in Berwick, with the Town Hall in the centre of the picture. The memorial is to Dr. Philip MacLagan, a well respected doctor who lived in Berwick from 1853 until his death in 1892. The town's people decided to erect this memorial to him, which cost £150 and was designed by D. W. Stevenson of Edinburgh. It was moved from this street in 1922 to the front of the Infirmary buildings.
