Berwick, Marygate and MacLagan Memorial - Click for bigger imageLooking down Marygate in Berwick, with the Town Hall in the centre of the picture. The memorial is to Dr. Philip MacLagan, a well respected doctor who lived in Berwick from 1853 until his death in 1892. The town's people decided to erect this memorial to him, which cost 150 and was designed by D. W. Stevenson of Edinburgh. It was moved from this street in 1922 to the front of the Infirmary buildings.
