Ashington, Station Temperance Bar - Click for bigger imageThis exterior view shows the Station Temperance Bar in Ashington with staff standing outside. The temperance movement began in the 1830s with members promising to not drink spirits. This eventually extended to refraining from drinking any alcohol, for life.
