This entry is taken from the Log Book of Crofton Council Infants School in Blyth, which was opened in September 1904. The entry for 23rd August 1906 records the report of His Majesty's School Inspector. He writes; "This school is very pleasantly conducted. The scholars are bright and interested and are making good progress in their work".
Log books recorded the day to day running of the school. The head teacher was responsible for filling in a weekly, or in some cases, a daily record of the schools events. Northumberland Archives Service holds records of many Northumberland schools.
