This entry is taken from the Log Book of Crofton Council Infants School in Blyth, which was opened in September 1904. The entry for the week of 21st October 1904 records the poor attendance of the children that week as a result of an outbreak of Chicken Pox and Measles.
Log books recorded the day to day running of the school. The head teacher was responsible for filling in a weekly, or in some cases, a daily record of the schools events. Northumberland Archives Service holds records of many Northumberland schools.
