Wylam, Portrait of Thomas Bewick - Click for bigger imagePortrait of Thomas Bewick, the famous nineteenth century wood engraver. Bewick was born at Cherryburn Cottage in Ovingham in 1753. He went on to popularize his art to such an extent that it became the most popular form of graphic art until photography was introduced.
