This entry, extracted from the Morpeth parish burial register, which includes Hepscott, refers to Jane Potts. Jane died on the 2nd November 1799 and was buried on the 5th November 1799 aged 96 years.
When a person is buried an entry is made in the burial register. Of particular interest are the burial registers of the period 1798-1812. These are known as Bishop Barrington registers. Shute Barrington, Bishop of Durham, ordered that additional information should be recorded, for example, a person's age and occupation when they died.
