Cornhill-on-Tweed - Plans

This building plan which illustrates Cornhill National school is one of a series of plans of Northumberland schools. In total, 38 schools, which were built during 1852 and 1872, have building plans. School plans of this period are valuable because, they illustrate how the educational administrators were trying to improve conditions for pupils. In addition they provide a snapshot of architectural design of the mid-Victorian era.
