1881 Census Returns for Northumberland - Click for bigger imageThis is an extract from the 1881 Census Returns for Northumberland which includes Wark. Living at the Boat House is James Jameson. James, aged 51 years, was the head of the household, married with four children. His occupation was that of a General Labourer and he was born at Bellingham in Northumberland. Census Returns are an excellent source when doing family history. The Northumberland Record Office holds microfilm and microfiche copies of the Northumberland Census Returns from 1841 to 1901.
