James, aged 51 years, was the head of the household, married with four children. His occupation was that of a General Labourer and he was born at Bellingham in Northumberland. Census Returns are an excellent source when doing family history. The Northumberland Record Office holds microfilm and microfiche copies of the Northumberland Census Returns from 1841 to 1901.
