This is an extract from the 1881 Census Returns for Northumberland which includes Rothbury.
Living at the Rothbury Union Workhouse is William Rapier. William, aged 49 years, was the head of the household, married with one child. His occupation was that of the Master of the Workhouse and he was born at Alnwick in Northumberland. Also residing at the workhouse were twelve pauper / inmates and three vagrants.
