Warkworth, The Hermitage - Click for bigger imageThe Hermitage at Warkworth. This hermitage is on the bank of the river Coquet, and visitors can be rowed over to view it. It was immortalized in folklore by Bishop Thomas Percy, who wrote the famous ballad "The Hermit of Warkworth" in 1771 and dedicated it to the Countess of Northumberland.
