This entry, extracted from the Embleton parish burial register, refers to Elizabeth Craggs. Elizabeth died on the 21st January 1799 and was buried on the 23rd Jauary 1799 aged 35 years.
When a person is buried an entry is made in the burial register. Of particular interest are the burial registers of the period 1798-1812. These are known as Bishop Barrington registers. Shute Barrington, Bishop of Durham, ordered that additional information should be recorded, for example, a person's age and occupation when they died.
